SHAHDADKOT: PPP’s basic slogan remains unchanged: BB

By Our Correspondent

SHAHDADKOT, Dec 23: Chairperson of PPP Benazir Bhutto has said that the People’s Party is committed to its slogan of ‘roti, kapra aur makan’ that it had adopted on its founding day.

Speaking at workers convention in Shahdadkot here on Saturday, Ms Bhutto said the PPP was striving for people’s welfare.

Terming the PML-Q a group of conspirators, she predicated their defeat in the ensuing elections.

Saying that terrorists were attacking at will, she referred to the blast on the Eid day in Charsada which killed innocent people.

She alleged that agencies did not allow democracy to take roots in the country after the death of Quaid-i-Azam and one after another prime ministers were sent home on ‘charges of corruption’.

The prime ministers enjoying army’s support worked freely, she said.

The anti-people and anti-democratic forces had always joined hands and hatched conspiracies against the PPP during their rule, she claimed.

Ms Bhutto criticised the previous government for neglecting her constituency and said that they did not even undertake the remodelling works of Saifullah Magsi Canal and Warah Canal.

She said her government had allocated millions of rupees to facilitate growers but previous governments ignored the agriculture.

During five-year rule the previous government had focused on developing dent in PPP’s popularity and rift in its ranks and gifted nation with terrorism, price hike and unemployment, she remarked.

She, pointing towards creating ‘patriots’ group, said the rulers perpetuated its rule which culminated into political, economic and now flour crisis in the country.

She urged people to vote PPP candidates to assemblies for the betterment of society and asked workers to be vigilant on the polling day at polling stations.

They should check the ballot papers series numbers.

Mir Nadir Magsi, Mir Aaamir Magsi PPP’s nominee for PS-40 and NA-206, Dr Ayaz Tunio, Khursheed Junejo, Ghulam Mujtaba Isran and others also addressed the gathering.
