PESHAWAR, Dec 20: Peshawar High Court’s Chief Justice Tallat Qayyum Qureshi on Thursday took a fresh oath under the 1973 Constitution.
NWFP Governor Lt-Gen (retd) Ali Mohammad Jan Aurakzai administered the oath at the Governor House.
Justice Qureshi had not taken the oath along with other judges of the high court on Dec 15 because he was serving as acting governor in the absence of Mr Aurakzai who had gone to perform Haj.
Justice Qureshi was appointed the Chief Justice of the High Court when Chief Justice Tariq Pervez Khan and the next senior judge, Justice Shahjehan Khan Yousafzai, refused to take oath under the PCO.
Now two of 13 judges of the high court, Justice Mohammad Raza Khan and Justice Raj Mohammad Khan, have to take fresh oath.
