TIMERGARA, Dec 20: The Lower Dir chapter of the Jamaat-i-Islami has served a show-cause notice on a party member, Mufti Kifayatullah — an independent candidate for PF-94 who had not withdrawn his nomination papers in line with the party’s decision to boycott the Jan 8 elections.
Showing a copy of the notice to journalists here on Thursday, JI district amir Maulana Ahmad Ghafoor said that all party members were bound to follow the decisions taken by the Jamaat-i-Islami Shura. He asked Mufti Kifayatullah to clear his position on participating in the polls in a week otherwise his basic membership of the party would be terminated.
