KARACHI, Dec 19: The Pakistan Table Tennis Federation (PTTF) on Wednesday named a six-member team for competing in the World Table Tennis Championships being held in China from Feb 24 to March 2.
The players were picked after extensive trials held at the PSB Coaching Centre under the supervision of two North Korean experts.
“They [players] have been told to maintain cent per cent physical fitness prior to departure during the camp. If any one is found lacking in fitness, he will be replaced, president, PTTF,
S.M. Sibtain, told Dawn.
Meanwhile, the trainees attending the national camp at the Coaching Centre were dispersed on Wednesday before the Eid-ul-Azha break.
The PTTF official disclosed that after celebrating Eid with their families, the players will proceed to Peshawar to feature in the 45th National Table Tennis championship which runs there from Dec 26 to 30.
Korean coaches accompanied by an interpreter, will also travel to Peshawar to watch the players in action. The national camp resumes on Jan 1.
