TT umpires course ends

KARACHI, Dec 19: The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) course conductor, Neela Kanta Ganeshan Iyer, has hinted that 75 per cent participants have cleared the foreign funded basic table tennis umpires course.

He made this observation at the closing ceremony of the four-day course organised by the Pakistan Table Tennis Federation (PTTF) at a local hotel the other day.

Held for the first time in the country, the course was sponsored by the ITTF/ATTU.

Elaborating his observation the visitor said all participants are technically sound 60 per cent and above.

“Those who are below the mark have limitations and can’t express themselves in English,” said Iyer, who was here on his first visit.

During his stay, he also conducted practical examinations of the participants at Islamia Club.As many as 24 men and women from the four provinces attended the course.—Sports Correspondent
