LAHORE, Dec 19: Around 60 students, lawyers and civil society activists held a candlelight vigil and procession outside Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan’s house on Wednesday evening to protest the violence committed against Islamabad students and activists on Monday.

The call, made by the Student Action Committee (SAC) Lahore, saw the protesters initially gathering at 5-Zaman Park, where Ahsan is being held under house arrest.

The protesters lit candles and distributed national flags before proceeding along the canal to The Mall, whilst distributing stickers along the way and chanting slogans ‘Musharraf ka jo yaar hai, ghaddar hai’ and ‘Lathi goli ki sarkar nahi chalegi’.
