Police bid to disrupt PML-N meeting

SHEIKHUPURA, Dec 19: PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif addressed a public meeting in Nankana Sahib, 60 km away from, here on Wednesday evening.

He was given a rousing welcome on his arrival.

Before his arrival, the local police tried to keep people from the meeting venue but failed. It also dismantled the stage, forcing Mr Sharif to address the gathering from his jeep.

Later he proceeded to Manawala.

MINTO: Abid Hasan Minto, chairman of the Pakistan Workers Party, addressed the local bar on Wednesday.

He said that Jan 8 elections would prove to be a fraud. He said Musharraf and his men had already devised a strategy to rig the elections. He urged the lawyers’ community to launch a door to door move to make the general public boycott elections.— Correspondent
