Five die in accident

QUETTA, Dec 18: Five members of a family were killed and another suffered injuries when their car collided with a trawler on the Quetta-Kandhar highway on Tuesday.

Police said the family was going to Spin Buldak to celebrate Eid. When they reached Saranan, the driver lost control of the vehicle, apparently because of speeding.

The head of the family, Hikmatullah, lost both legs in the accident. He was taken to the civil hospital in Quetta.

Hikmatullah’s sister and two children, 10-year-old Habibullah and 6-year-old Sitara, were killed on the spot, while his wife and driver, Najibullah, died in the hospital.—Staff Correspondent
