JACOBABAD, Dec 18: Members of different political parties, trade unions and people took out a protest rally against rising cases of kidnapping of minor children in Jacobabad city here on Tuesday.
Three children, Gurya, 5, from Quaid-i-Azam road, Fayaz Abro, 5, from Dastagir colony and Akshay Kumar from Petti bazaar, have been kidnapped but the police so far failed to trace them, they said.
The rally started from the main bazaar chowk. Labour leaders Ahmed Ali Brohi, Hindu Panchayat president Lal Chand Seetlani, Dr A.G. Ansari JUI, Raja Abdul Raheem of PPP, Hafiz Mir Mohammad Banglani and Ghulam Nabi Qureshi were leading the rally.
After marching on different roads of the city they reached at the National Highway where they staged a sit-in.
Later, they gathered at the press club where they address the people who were present there.
The speakers said that five people of Jacobabad, Raj Kumar, Wazir Ali, Jaipal Das, Bahoo Lal and Shankar Lal had been kidnapped from a Jacobabad-bound passenger wagon.
The law and order situation was deteriorating in the city, they said while adding that the police had failed to control the situation. The people no more feel safe in their homes.
They said, if normalcy, peace and law and order was not restored, they would intensify their agitation.
RALLY: A rally, led by Intezar Chhalgari, was taken out by the Primary Teachers’ Association on Tuesday against the kidnapping of Wazir Ali Mahar, a teacher from Sultankot area on Monday.
