Croatian swimmer suspended

LAUSANNE (Switzerland), Dec 17: Croatian swimmer Marko Strahija has been temporarily suspended after failing a drug test.

The backstroke specialist tested positive for performance-enhancing hormones in an out-of-competition test on Nov 8, swimming’s world governing body FINA said on its website.

The suspension is provisional pending a hearing by the agency’s doping panel. No date has been set.—AP
