QUETTA, Dec 17: Balochistan governor Owais Ahmed Ghani has blamed Afghanistan for suicide attacks and other terrorist activities in Pakistan, particularly in Balochistan. Talking to newsmen after a ceremony at the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Centre here on Monday, he said that Afghanistan was involved in all acts of terrorism and subversion in Pakistan.“Afghanistan is behind all problems that Pakistan is facing, whether it is suicide bombing, terrorism, refugee issue or economic difficulties, all are emanating from across the border,” Mr. Ghani claimed.

He said the condition in Afghanistan was not yet stable so far and unless the problems there were sorted out, there could be no peace and order in Pakistan.

“The happenings in Pakistan are a reflection of the Afghan situation which the government there has not been able to control,” the governor said.

Replying to a question, he said that investigation was in progress into a recent suicide bombing at a military checkpost in Quetta. Culprits, he said, would be arrested soon.

Earlier, speaking at the ceremony, he urged students to equip themselves with both worldly and religious education for a better future.

“Youths must learn some skill to earn their livelihoods instead of depending entirely on government jobs,” the governor said.

He said that three million youths entered the job market every year after completing their education. “It is not possible for the government to provide jobs to all of them,” he said, adding that they should learn skill to earn their livelihood.

The governor distributed gold medals and certificates among 300 students of the institution who have completed technical training in 25 disciplines.
