PESHAWAR, Dec 17: PML-Q provincial president Amir Muqam has said that people are not concerned about the renaming of the NWFP. Instead, they were interested in the resolution of their problems.

People of the province could not be deceived any more on the issue of NWFP’s name, he said. As people were facing numerous challenges and problems they needed solutions, not slogans, he said.

“We should not waste time on the issue.” He claimed that the previous federal government had granted the NWFP its rights.

He said this while addressing public gatherings in Salman Khel, Mattani and Badabher in connection with his election campaign. He is contesting for the NA-4 seat.

A number of workers of different political parties and other people joined the PML-Q and reposed confidence in the leadership of Mr Muqam.

Mr Muqam said the PML-Q had completed a number of developmental projects in the province even though the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal was in power in the NWFP.

He said if he won the seat he was contesting for, he would ensure the provision of basic facilities in the constituency. One of his aims was to end the politics of Khans and the feudal families.

He called upon the masses to extend their support to his party so that the people’s problems might be resolved.
