KARACHI, Dec 17: A head constable lost his life while trying to foil a bank dacoity in DHA on Monday.

Police said that six men entered the Allied Bank of Pakistan’s branch in DHA Phase II and disarmed the security guard and held the customers and bank staff hostage at gunpoint. Meanwhile, head constable of the Defence police station, Moazzam Ali Shah, who was posted at the bank reached the premises but as he attempted to put up resistance the bandits shot him repeatedly.

Police claimed that the bandits in utter confusion fled without taking cash. The critically injured head constable was shifted to the JPMC where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
