KARACHI: Murder FIR registered

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Dec 17: Police registered on Monday an FIR of murder pertaining to the death of Shahzad Ali Rind, son of K.B. Rind, the chief secretary of Balochistan.

Shahzad was found dead, with a bullet hole in his head, in the driver’s seat of his car in a desolate place in the DHA Phase VIII on Sunday morning.

The FIR (510/2007) was registered under Section 302 against unknown suspects at the Darakhshan police station on the complaint of Ghulam Husain, driver of the deceased.

In his statement given to police and incorporated in the FIR, Ghulam Husain said that after fixing the lock of the apartment, the family moved in there from their Bath Island residence.

Shahzad Rind left the apartment at around midnight on Saturday saying that he was going to withdraw some cash from an ATM.

However, he did not return and in the morning they learnt that he had been shot dead by unknown persons.

Meanwhile, investigators retrieved the call details from Shahzad’s cellphone and have reportedly found some clues, but senior police officers avoided giving further details.
