THATTA: Protest against ex-minister

Published December 17, 2007

THATTA, Dec 16: A large lumber of people who have applied for gas connection in the coastal town of Jati took out a procession against former minister of state for agriculture and livestock and PML-Q candidate for PS-87 (Thatta-IV), Mohammad Ali Khan Malkani, here on Sunday.

The demonstrators, led by Ashraf Ali Memon, after marching through main thoroughfares converged at Jati Press Club.

They said that Mohammad Ali Malkani had put a condition that only those applicants would be given gas connections who pledged under oath to vote for him.

The applicants have called the Election Commission to take immediate notice of the violation of election rules.—BoC
