Inquiry to probe U-19 loss

By Our Sports Reporter

LAHORE, Dec 14: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf has assured that he would hold an inquiry to know how the national U-19 team lost to a lowly-rated Bangladesh in the home series early this month.

“The defeat at the hands of Bangladesh is indeed surprising and I am meeting with the national Junior selection committee, coach Mansoor Rana and other team officials, later in the evening to know about the truth behind the debacle,” the chairman said at a press conference.

Pakistan, lost the One-day series 3-2 after taking 2-0 lead. Earlier, the one-off four-dayers also ended in a draw.

Surprisingly, the Pakistan Under-19 team lost the series after beating England in England and Australia in Pakistan under Mansoor Rana’s coaching.
