LARKANA, Dec 14: Former leader of opposition in Sindh Assembly and PPP candidate for PS-36 (Larkana- city), Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, said on Friday that transfers and postings government officers after the announcement of polls schedule indicated that rulers were not serious in holding elections in a free and fair manner.
He said at a meeting at his residence on the arrangements for Ms Benazir Bhutto’s Dec 23 public meeting in Larkana that 0.2 million people would attend the public meeting and predicted Jan 8 as the day of victory for PPP. He objected to Dr Abrab Ghulam Rashim’s claim about receiving official protocol as former chief minister and argued that if the arguem, ent was valid then why Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Aftab Shahban Mirani, too, were not receiving the same protocol as former chief ministers.
Later, he said during addresses to corner meetings in Juriyo Chandio and Shaho Boraho villages that PPP would provide jobs to the educated youth after it came to power.
SACHAL ALLIANCE: The chairman of the Sachal Alliance Engineer Saifullah Abro claimed on Friday that the alliance was capable of eroding 80 per cent support base of Sindh National Front in the constituency for PS-37.
He said that it made no difference if his nomination papers had been rejected but the alliance would not give a walkover to PPP and SNF candidates for NA-207 and PS-37.
He said that now his brother Rehmatullah Abro would contest against Ms Benazir Bhutto for NA-207 (Larkana-IV) and PS-37 against Ayaz Soomro and Ameer Bakhsh Bhutto.
