KARACHI: No human loss as girder falls

KARACHI, Dec 14: A girder being moved by employing a crane to place it on the columns of the under-construction Lyari Expressway over Gharibabad bridge broke loose and fell down with a huge bang on Friday.

However, no one was reported hurt in the incident.

Officials involved in the construction of the Lyari Expressway said that the girder was being moved when it suddenly broke loose and fell down.

District Coordination Officer Javed Hanif, who rushed to the spot following the incident, said that such incidents did occur during construction works.
