KARACHI, Dec 14: Three ships scheduled to load/offload containers and iron ore were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday.

Meanwhile, five more ships carrying containers, edible oil and furnace oil also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy was maintained at 60pc at the port where six ships, CMA CGM Effel, Al-Mariyah, Bernice, Bunga Melati Satu, Al-Debaran and Settle Trader, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, edible oil, furnace oil and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 86,911 tons comprising 67,525 tons of import and 19,386 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as CMA CGM Eiffel, Bunga Melati Satu and Al-Debaran left the port while Al-Mariyah was due to depart.
