KARACHI, Dec 14: Six ships carrying palm oil and containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where five ships, Kapitan Byankin and Hanjin Chittagong to unload and load containers, Cherry to load rice, Safaga to offload phosphate and Splandour, an oil tanker, were berthed after the departure of as many.

The departed ships were led by Hyundai Sprinter, Kapitan Byankin, Nifolaos-P, Gemini and Atlantic Express, while Naftocement, Hanjin Chittagong, Splendour, Iran Tabatabaei, Chang Le Men and Calvin P. Titus are due to sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage soared to 127,000 tons comprising 27,830 tons of export cargo including 1,025 tons of rice and 6,219 tons of cement and 99,316 tons of import cargo.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Valiant with 68,000 tons of crude oil, NCC Asir with 5,000 tons of palm oil, Oel Shrcyas, Bunga Kenari with containers, Bright Ocean and Iron Butterfly with general cargo.
