TT trials begin

KARACHI, Dec 13: The three-day trials for the selection of a six-member Pakistan team including three women’s for the coming World Table Tennis championships, commenced at the PSB Coaching Centre on Thursday.

As many as 12 men and 10 women went through two rigorous league sessions on the opening day.

The PTTF had invited top 16 men and as many women for the trials but 10 players abstained.

The World Table Tennis championship is slated to take place at Guongzhou, China, from Feb 24.

The trials which conclude on Saturday are held under the supervision of two North Korean coaches. The PTTF has deputed former international Javed Chottani as observer.
