KARACHI, Dec 13: The Federal Ministry of Education through a notification has declared the Urdu Dictionary Board, Karachi, as the subordinate office of the ministry. The chief editor of the Urdu Dictionary Board, Karachi, will be the head of department to exercise the administrative and financial powers, the notification says.

The notification has been issued in view of the Supreme Court verdict on an appeal suggesting that “the organisations established through resolutions are deemed to be subordinate offices unless their status is changed through legislation to make them autonomous/body corporate.”—PPI
