Pakistan, Iran ready to sign gas accord

ISLAMABAD, Dec 11: Pakistan and Iran are close to signing a gas sales purchase agreement for the Iran-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project since most of the issues have been resolved.

“We had productive meeting with Iranian delegation and we have agreed to sign the deal during their current visit,” Caretaker Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Ahsanullah Khan told journalists on Tuesday. Iranian Special Representative on Gas Project Dr Ghanimi Fard was also present.

The minister expressed satisfaction over the progress on the project and said that its early implementation would help strengthen and expand economic and trade relations among countries in the region.—APP
