sMajor witness turns hostile in Brohi murder case

NAWABSHAH, Dec 11: The Rasool Bux Brohi murder case took a new turn after an eyewitness turned hostile and changed his earlier statement here on Tuesday.

All the accused of Rasool Bux Brohi murder case, including suspended SP and In-charge Lyari Task Force, Chaudhry Aslam, DSP Irfan Bahadur, Inspectors Syed Safdar Shah, Sarwar Commando, Baharuddin Babar, Syed Nasirul Hassan and Mohammad Ishaque Lashari, Sub-Inspectors Asif Jameel, Mir Farosh and Mujeebur Rehman, ASIs Abdul Ghani Khushik and Mohammad Iqbal Niazi, police informer Nazeer Alias Nazru Khaskheli and others were present in sessions court Nawabshah amid tight security.

The eyewitness of the case, Mohammad Siddiq alias Pandhi Brohi, changed his earlier statement and recorded a fresh statement saying that his earlier statement recorded before the Judicial Magistrate Sakrand was made under duress and now he was in his senses.

He stated that Rasool Bux Brohi was a criminal who used different fake names. He said that he was not aware about the arrest of Rasool Bux Brohi.

It may be mentioned here that Mohammad Ismail Brohi and Ghulam Hussain Brohi, father and uncle of deceased Rasool Bux were sent outside the court room before recording of fresh statement by Siddiq Brohi after an objection of the defence counsel Amir Mansoob Qureshi and Mohammad Ilyas.

The District and Sessions Judge Nawabshah, Syed Kausar Shah Bukhari, adjourned the hearing of the case and bail applications of accused Chaudhry Aslam, Irfan Bahadur, Syed Nasirul Hassan and Mohammad Ishaque Lashari till December 15.Later, talking to reporters outside court, Mohammad Ismail Brohi and Ghulam Mohammad Brohi, father and uncle of deceased said that eyewitness Siddiq was in the custody of main accused and after change of statement, they feared that they would be implicated in the case.

The prison van (9127) carrying the accused from central jail Karachi met an accident near Saeedabad toll plaza due to which the wind screen of the vehicle was damaged. However, no other loss was reported.
