2008 declared ‘year of the soldier’
ISLAMABAD, Dec 11: The Chief of the Army Staff, Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, on Tuesday declared 2008 as the ‘Year of the Soldier.’
During the year, he said, the army would be concentrating on improving the quality of life of soldiers.
Speaking at the installation ceremony of the Colonel Commandant of Corps of Military Police in Dera Ismail Khan, he said efforts would largely be devoted to welfare of all ranks, particularly the soldiers.
