KARACHI, Dec 11: Bailable arrest warrants of 14 policemen were issued on Tuesday for not appearing in court despite repeated reminders.

Judicial Magistrate-X, South, Asif Ahmed issued the warrants of an inspector, three sub-inspectors, six assistant sub-inspectors and four constables for not appearing in court despite repeated notices issued to them in different cases.

Bailable warrants of SI Imran Ahmed Khan and ASIs Mohammad Tufail and Amanat Ali were issued for not recording their statement as prosecution witnesses in illegal arms case.

According to the prosecution, police had recovered illegal weapons from the possession of Noor Mohammad in Chakiwara police limits and registered a case (FIR No 207/2005) under Section-13/D of the Pakistan Penal Code. The court fixed Dec 15 as the next date of hearing.
