KARACHI, Dec 11: Seven ships carrying containers, general cargo and to load ethanol and cement are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was relatively slow where only two ships, Wan Hai-301 to unload and load containers and Gemini to offload palm oil were berthed after the departure of four.

The departed ships were led by Classy Victoria, Virginia, Jitra Bhum and Auid, while Sinar Bintan, Bunga Melati Satu, Heng Shan and Al-Hussani are due to sail out on Wednesday.

A total tonnage of 78,964 tons comprising 28,599 tons of export cargo including 1,501 tons of rice and 1,297 tons of cement and 50,365 tons of import tonnage was handled on Tuesday.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Splendour with oil, Chemuway Lara, to load ethanol, Hyundai Sprinter and Iran Tabatabaei with containers, Naftocement-11 to load 12,000 tons of cement, Chang Le Men with general cargo and Atlantic Express with steel.
