Appeals of 12 candidates accepted

QUETTA, Dec 10: The Balochistan Election Tribunal on Monday accepted appeals of 12 candidates against rejection of their nomination papers by returning officers. The tribunal accepted the appeals of Aurangzeb and Habibullah, candidates for PB-8; Muhammad Lal for PB-9, Syed Hanif for PB-10, Mohammad Latif for PB-15, Sanaullah for PB-21, Dadan for PB-28, Ashmat Ali for PB-30, Hamayun for PB-30 and PB-31, Mohammad Rahim for PB-32, Maulvi Ataullah for PB-36 and Ali Mohammad for PB-39.

The tribunal disposed of an appeal of one Raiz Ahmed against the acceptance of nomination papers of Mir Zafarullah Jamali, Mir Taj Mohammad Jamali and former provincial minister Mir Abdur Rehman Jamali for NA-266, Nasirabad, as the appellant did not press it.

The tribunal issued notice to respondents on an appeal filed by former chief minister Jam Mohammad Yousuf against acceptance of nomination papers of Pakistan People’s Party candidate and Mir Akbar Lasi.

The appeals of Shabir Ahmed against acceptance of nomination papers of former federal minister Sardar Yar Mohammad Rind for NA-267 and of Noor Ahmed against Mr Rind’s candidature for PB-31 were dismissed.
