Policemen’s rifles stolen

By Our Correspondent

KOHAT, Dec 10: Unidentified men took away official rifles of two policemen in the Paracha Town on the Rawalpindi road on Sunday night, it is learnt.

According to the policemen, they were offering prayers in a mosque when some unidentified people took away their rifles, said an official, adding that the case was being investigated.

In a similar incident some time ago, masked men had taken away 12 Kalashinkovs and a box full of ammunition from a check post in the jurisdiction of the Gumbat police station.

Policemen on duty had told investigators that some gunmen forcibly entered the post and snatched weapons from them.

Missing man: A man who had been reported missing last month was found buried in his own house in Miri Banda on Hangu road on Monday. He was identified as Hashmat.

Hashmat’s father had informed police that his son and daughter-in-law had been missing.

The Kohat Bureau of Investigation found him buried in the house.

Police said Hashmat had been hanged, adding that his wife, Rehana, was still missing and efforts were under way to locate her whereabouts.
