NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Dec 10: Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi, son of seasoned politician and former caretaker prime Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi, will contest from NA-211 while the Syed group will field their candidates from PS-20 and PS-21, respectively.
This was decided in the backdrop of a seat adjustment reached between Jatoi and Syed group here on Monday.
The understanding was reached at a meeting held in New Jatoi which was attended, among others by Ghulam Murtaza, former district nazim Masroor Jatoi, Murad Ali, his son Syed Hassan Ali Shah and others.
Later talking to journalists, Ghulam Murtaza said that Jatoi group candidates would withdraw in favour of Murad Ali, Hassan Ali and Syed Manzoor Ali Shah from NA-212, PS-20 and PS-21, respectively.
He said that he would contest from NA-211 and Masroor Jatoi and Arif Khan Jatoi would be in the field from PS-23 and PS-19, respectively.
Murad Ali and Hassan Ali pledged that the Syed group would fully support the Jatois. They said that Jatoi-Syed Ittehad, which had emerged during the local bodies election, had been reinvigorated and continue even after elections.
Observers believe that after formation of Jatoi-Syed Ittehad, PPP candidates would face a tough competition in the district as the two Syeds i.e. PPP candidate for NA-212 Syed Zafar Ali Shah and PML’s Syed Murad Ali Shah would confront each other.
Though PPP has not finalised its candidates in the district as yet but insiders believe that Abdul Haq Bhurt and Syed Aftab Ali Shah or Syed Sarfaraz Ali Shah from PS-20 and PS-21 would face Jatoi-Syed Ittehad candidates viz; Syed Hassan Ali and Manzoor Ali.
