HYDERABAD: Labour leader arrested

HYDERABAD, Dec 10: Police arrested Wasa Employees Association leader Raja Khan Lahari for violating section 144 CrPC at Hyder chowk on Monday.

The employees had gathered there to stage a rally in support of their demands including payment of three months salary, non-issuance of uniform and non-payment of overtime.

They were led by Raja Khan Palari and others. Police arrived there and picked-up Raja Khan Palari while other workers dispersed. The protesters reached press club as other NGOs, who were observing International Human Rights Day, also joined them. The workers said they would be compelled to resort to extreme measures if their demands for payment of three months salary, non-payment of over time and non-issuance of uniform were not accepted.—Bureau
