KARACHI, Dec 10: Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) is organising a one-day seminar on “processes of value-added date products manufacturing” on Dec 13.

On the occasion, there will be lectures by foreign experts from Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Pakistan produces around 0.6 million tons of dates annually. The country exported over one million tons of dates during 2006-07, earning export income to a tune of $38.3 million.

The purpose of organising this seminar is to create awareness about the availability of enough quantity of raw material for value-addition and entering into profitable venture of manufacturing.
