Pathan delighted

By Our Sports Reporter

BANGALORE, Dec 9: Irfan Pathan said on Sunday he never expected to hit a century in his comeback Test after a long time.

Pathan who scored 102 said he always wanted to score a century in Tests.

“It’s a tremendous feeling to score a Test hundred. This is one moment in my life I’ll never forget.

“I scored a ton during a practice game in South Africa this year, and so if you get it once, there’s always the chance of getting another,” the all-rounder told reporters.

Pathan said it was the demand of the situation to score quickly.

“Kumble wanted to declare sometime after tea. And since I was batting under instructions, I went for the bowling. I preferred to go for a big shot rather than let myself out or my partner,” he remarked.

Commenting on the match situation, Pathan said that India were in driving seat now.

“It won’t be easy to bat on this pitch as it will break up,” Irfan predicted.
