Omar praises ex-premier

By Our Correspondent

HARIPUR, Dec 9: Former minister of state for finance Omar Ayub Khan has claimed that the Shaukat Aziz-led government put the country back on the track of economic development and prosperity.

He was speaking to members of a delegation from the Sera-i-Nemat Khan Union Council here on Sunday, who met him to pledge their support for upcoming elections.

He said that when the Pakistan Muslim League took over the reins of government, the economic conditions were poor but the way the former premier brought about improvements in the foreign reserves, restored the confidence of foreign investors was indicative of his expertise.
