In his remarks Sindh University vice-chancellor said that it was a false impression that corruption in Muslim societies had increased.

He said that due to injustice corruption was on the increase all over the world.

He said education was a fundamental requirement of a healthy society and added that due to scarcity of funds and competent teachers the society had been suffering.

“According to sociology, as a family starts from a home, in the same way justice also starts from home,” he said and added that justice helped strengthen a society.

Mr Mazharul Haq said in our country the most neglected area was education and allocation of funds in this, especially in public sector, was very low.

He said that non-availability of teachers in rural areas had created a critical situation and added that poverty was also a big issue of our society. He said it was a responsibility of state to ensure equal distribution of resources.

The rural areas of the country are the most neglected in terms of basic facilities, he observed.

He said that it was a collective responsibility of every one to fight against corruption. He appreciated the efforts of NAB against the menace.
