NAWABSHAH, Dec 8: An ex-chief minister of Sindh has questioned rationale in providing protocol and security to Benazir Bhutto after the lapse of 10 years of her premiership.
The ex-Chief Minister Sindh Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim said that if she can be facilitated then why not him who recently relinquished the charge of chief minister.
He was talking to newsmen after a meeting of the PML-Q and allied parties at the residence of Sardar Khan Mohammed Dahiri, District President PML-Q, on Friday.
He said Opposition will not accept caretaker set-up as they don’t accept President Musharraf although he doffed the military outfit.
Responding to a question, he said the All Pakistan Democratic Movement would not have boycotted elections had it any hopes of success. He said rivals were making excuse as they foresee their defeat but will not be allowed leave arena.
He denied reports of joblessness in Sindh arguing the province was rather short-handed in labour due to development taking place fast.
Substantiating claim the ex-CM said a number of industries started functioning during his tenure with considerable growth in agriculture and availability of water to growers through improved irrigation system.
He defended ban on teachers’ union terming it a good decision in favour of Sindh which ultimately will help progress education sector.
