ATTOCK, Dec 7: Capt Malik Zafar Iqbal Awan (retd) was reelected president, Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) for the period of next four years in the recent polls. The PNF’ elections were held under the supervision of an election committee comprising the representatives of Army, Police, Sindh, PNF women’s wing and the Umpiring Association.

Other office bearers include Abdul Razzak (chairman), Malik Sameen Khan (senior vice-president), Nadia Begum, Tahir Ikram, Mian Asim Bashir and Syed Tauqeer Ali (vice-presidents), Seema Shah and Mohammad Rizwan (associate secretary-generals) and Khalid Perviaz (treasurer).

The executive committee of PNF approved a budget of Rs4,341,000 for 2008 and finalised the schedule for next year’s international and national events.

The following events were approved.

International:

European Women’s Open Netball Championship (Feb 15-17, 2008) at Glasgow, Scotland, US National Netball League Championship (June 21-23) at Atlanta, USA and Southern Skies Netball Tournament (July 11-17), at Brisbane, Australia.

National:

8th National Women’s Netball Championship in April 2008 at Faisalabad, 8th National Men’s Netball Championship in June 2008 at Quetta, Inter-Provincial Netball Championship in August at Peshawar, National Junior Girls Netball Championship in September at Faisalabad, National Junior Boys Netball Championship in October at Hyderabad.
