Lawyers boycott courts

By Our Correspondent

ABBOTTABAD, Dec 6: Lawyers boycotted court proceedings and organised a protest on the High Court Circuit Bench premises on Thursday.

The boycott and protest camp was in response to a call by the Pakistan Bar Council. During the protest, lawyers vowed to continue their struggle until the restoration of the Constitution and the end of emergency rule.

The journalists set up a hunger strike camp in front of the Abbottabad Press Club and wore black armbands to vent their anger against curbs on the media and imposition of emergency rule in the country.

People from different walks of life and representatives and activists of civil society organisations visited the camp to express their solidarity with the protesting journalists.
