PESHAWAR, Dec 6: The Bacha Khan Education Foundation’s Board of Directors on Thursday decided to open five primary schools in the NWFP and the Federally-Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) next year.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the board presided over by its chairperson Afrasiab Khattak. Other members of the board who attended the meeting were vice-chairperson Dr Humayun Khan, Bushra Gohar, Dr Waqar Ali Shah, Dr Fazal Rahim Marwat, Dr Ijaz Khan, Brig (retd) Mohammad Ishaq and Muhammad Raza.

Meanwhile, the General-Secretary of the Awami National Party’s NWFP chapter, Mian Iftikhar Hussain, has criticised some PPP leaders for allegedly using objectionable language against the ANP leaders during a PPP workers’ meeting.

The ANP, he claimed, did not want to indulge in petty disputes and was strictly adhering to late Bacha Khan’s policy of non-violence. Some people, he said, were bent upon tarnishing the image of the ANP, he said.
