QUETTA, Dec 5: The Balochistan Election Tribunal on Wednesday accepted the appeals of nine candidates who had challenged the rejection of their nomination papers by returning officers.

The tribunal comprised Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai and Justice Akhtar Zaman Malghani.

The appellants were Maulana Ahmed Khan for PB-9, Pishin; Abdullah Khan for PB-10, Pishin; Janan Khan Achakzai for NA-265 and PB-11, Chaman; Maulana Mohammad Isa for PB-22, Harnai; Dashti Khan Jattak and Mir Metha Khan for PB-29, Nasirabad; Maulana Abdur Rehman for PB-37, Kalat-II; Maulana Ataullah for NA-265 and PB-36, Kalat; and Malik Karim Dad for PB-39, Chagai.

The appeal of Samina Tareen for a reserved seat for women in the Balochistan Assembly was dismissed.
