HYDERABAD: Housing schemes declared illegal

HYDERABAD, Dec 4: The Sindh Town Planning Department has declared illegal six housing schemes in Ghotki district advising people to refrain from booking plots there.

Director Town Planning Department Tahir Ahmed, in a faxed statement to Dawn on Tuesday, stated the survey showed

Bismillah Colony on main National Highway Road, Gulistan-e-Mehmood, Rehmoonyali Road, Godriwala Dhan Colony, Bypass Road, Aftab Colony, National Highway Road, and Sibghatullah Shah Colony near Wapda R.O Office Ghotki being built illegally and without approval from the Town Planning Department Sindh.

“Section-8 of Town Planning Act clearly stipulates scheme not approved by the provincial government illegal and hence, liable for action”, he argued adding “notices have been issued to sponsors of the said housing schemes to close down their booking offices and stop advertisement as it tantamount to swindling.” Tahir Ahmed has advised people not to book plots in the above mentioned schemes and whosoever does will do on their own risk and cost for which the department will not be responsible.
