Inbox win bridge event

KARACHI, Dec 2: Inbox mustered 147 victory points (VPs) to clinch top honours in the Karachi Club Open team bridge championship which concluded on Sunday. The winners who were trailing behind Aces at the end of two rounds on Saturday night overtook the leaders on resumption with sheer brilliance and maintained their lead till the end of seven rounds.

The victorious team comprised internationals Khurshid Hadi, Rehman Allana, Rasheed Jaffer, Tahir Masood and Javed Miran.

Data Steel having Tariq Rashid, Pervaiz Mirza, Shakil Chandna, Rashidul Ghazi and Tehsin Gheewala in their fold finished runners-up with 124 VPs.

The third position went to Aces (118 VPs) while Alliance was narrowly beaten to fourth place (117 VPs).—Sports Correspondent
