LAHORE, Dec 2: The provincial election cell of the MQM on Sunday fielded 26 more candidates for the Punjab Assembly, said a press release. Party’s election cell organiser Ghiasuddin Janbaz said the strength of MQM candidates had risen to 77 in Punjab after the new addition.

“This is in addition to 41 candidates for National Assembly,” he said.

According to the list, Rai Shahbaz Siddique has been nominated for PP-154 (Lahore), Khashif Ali Khan for PP-8, Ayaz Zaheer Hashmi for PP-9 (Rawalpindi), Mubarik Ali for PP-191 and Muhammad Amin Bhatti for PP-192 (Okara).

Mr. Amjad Husain Lodhi was in the run for PP-116 (Mandi Bahauddin), Nawashis Ali Warraich for PP-229 (Pakpattan), Badar Shaheen Siddique for PP-221, Mian Habibullah for PP-222, Zulfiqar Ali for PP-226 (Sahiwal), Husain Suleman for PP-266 (Layyah), Tanwir Ahmad for PP-216, Jameel Husain Khan for PP-217 (Khanewal), Rao Muhammad Shakeel for PP-215 (Khanewal), Rana Muhammad Khashif (Khanewal), Ziaul Haq for PP-48 (Bhakkar), Murid Husain Khosa for PP-243, Sh. Ahsan Ghazi for PP-244, Jamil Ahmed Bharmani for PP-245 (DG Khan) and Rana Amir (DG Khan).

For Faisalabad division, the party has nominated Amanullah Khan for PP-64, Sarfraz Ahmad Khan for PP-62, Zahid Husain Shah for PP-54, Muhammad Rizwan Khan Baloch for PP-56, Muhammad Akram Gujjar for PP-55, Naeem Mohyuddin for PP-51 and Naziya Ghaffar Wahala for PP-61.
