HYDERABAD: Police claim arresting bandits

HYDERABAD, Dec 1: Police on Friday arrested three people accused of being members of a gang that committed highway robberies in police uniforms. The alleged highwaymen included Lal Mohammad, Najmuddin and Khalid Lakha Dino while of their accomplices, Mohammad Umer Abro alias Roll Chandio and Ali Mohammad Rahu, a dismissed policeman managed to flee, police said.

Acting DPO said that the accused had been remanded to police custody for four days by judicial magistrate-IX. Three of them were arrested following an encounter and two accomplices escaped, he said and added that police had found three TT pistols, bullets, car (ALR-418) and a police uniform in their possession.
