PESHAWAR: Bomb hoax creates panic

Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, Nov 30: A bomb hoax created panic in a branch of the Muslim Commercial Bank in the Hashtnagri area on the main grand trunk road on Friday. The panic was created when staff of the branch found a computer CD-ROM type gadget on a counter. The device was placed by an unknown visitor. The branch was evacuated by the staff.

Bomb disposal squad officials after a thorough search announced that no explosive device had been found in the branch. They said a timer was wrapped with the device that gave an impression that it was a time-bomb.

Some staff members of the branch were interrogated by police.
