Arrested American bailed out

RAWALPINDI, Nov 29: A US national booked on Wednesday by the Civil Lines police on the charge of violating the Official Secrets Act, was granted bail by the court of a special judicial magistrate on Thursday, police said.

Staffnid Rolestmalcotm was spotted taking photographs from outside the Army Hockey Stadium on Wednesday where the command handing over ceremony was underway.

The police said Mr Rolestmalcotm had taken a photograph of President Musharraf’s motorcade when spotted by the security agency officials. A police official said Mr Rolestmalcotm was taken into custody by the security personnel and handed over to the Civil Lines police.

Later, a case under the Official Secrets Act was registered against him and he was arrested by the local police.— Staff Reporter
