KARACHI, Nov 29: A man strangled his daughter to death on Thursday in Gulshan-i-Sikander, Jackson area for marrying of her own accord a few months back.
Bushra, 22, was brutally murdered at her sister’s place where the family had gathered for lunch. Her father, Mohammad Javed, was against Bushra’s marriage decision.
“There was a dispute within the family when Bushra got married but things got settled down after reconciliation,” said a Jackson police official.
He said that the deceased visited her sister’s home on Thursday afternoon where Bushra’s father was also present.
“Bushra’s sister was engaged in the kitchen when Javed strangled her to death and fled,” he added.
The official said that the police had shifted the body to Civil Hospital for legal formalities.“The case is expected to be registered shortly, once the family members of the deceased approached the police, who are currently making arrangements for the funeral,” he added.
Bodies found
Three bodies were found from deserted areas in parts of the city. According to police, two of them have been identified while the identity of one of the victims is yet to be ascertained. All of the victims had been shot dead.
Sanaullah was found murdered with a single bullet in his head outside Zaiul Abideen Madressah in Malir City area. The area police said that the deceased, a resident of Mohammadi Colony, Malir, was a former guard employed at a private security company. Quoting family sources the police said that the deceased had been suffering from some mental ailment and had gone missing for the last couple of days. However, no case has so far been registered.
In Khokrapar area, body of Ahsan, 22, was found near Memon Goth with a single bullet wound on his chest.
The body was shifted to JPMC where the police officials were waiting for the initial medical examination findings for the registration of an FIR. The body of an unidentified man believed to be around 20 was found near Malir riverbed in Shershah area. The boy was shot in his head. Dressed in a pair of jeans and a T-shirt, the victim apparently was found a few hours after his murder. The police shifted the body to JPMC and then Edhi morgue after a medical examination.
The Shershah police, however, did not register any case and preferred to wait for the family members of the deceased.
