Head-hitters injure three people

LAHORE, Nov 28: Unidentified people hit heads of three people, including a woman, when they were asleep in their houses in Jauhar Town early on Wednesday morning. Jinnah Hospital officials said all three victims were hit in their heads, but police said only a couple was hit, adding they had minor injuries and they had refused to take any action against the accused.

The accused first entered the house of labourer Aslam in Dheer village and hit him and his wife in their heads when they were asleep.

The same accused then entered the adjacent house of Niaz Ahmad, hit his head and fled.

The injured were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The Jauhar Town station house officer said he was on leave. He, however, said he had been told that only a couple was injured in the attack.

SUICIDE: A 20-year-old boy committed suicide by taking poisonous pills after his father snubbed him over a domestic issue in Mughalpura on Wednesday.

Umer of Ramgarh Main Bazaar was free and did not heed to his father Maqsood’s repeated requests to find work for himself.

On Wednesday, Maqsood snubbed Umer again on the same issue. As a result, Umer locked himself in his room and took poisonous pills. He was taken to Mayo Hospital where he died.

MURDER: A 35-year-old man was shot dead allegedly by his relatives over a land dispute in Raiwind City late on Tuesday night. Police said Muhammad Ali of Kho Khokranwala had a land dispute with his relative, Sarwar.

On Tuesday night, Sarwar along with two accomplices, including Mansha, called Ali from his house, opened fire at him and injured him critically.

He was taken to Jinnah Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

LABOURER DIES: A 10-year-old labourer died after being entangled in a lift in the Ravi Road area on Wednesday.

Ghulam Muhammad told Dawn at the city morgue that his cousin Long Gull of Old Ravi Bridge locality was working at a Timber Market plot.

He was using a half-covered lift to reach the third floor of a building when he met an accident. His head was crushed and he was taken to Mayo Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
