ISLAMABAD, Nov 27: National tennis stars outplayed their opponents in the Subh-e-Nau National Bank Clay Court Tennis Championship here at the Islamabad courts on Tuesday.

Matches of men’s singles main round and boys junior U-17 were played on the second day of the seven-day tennis gala. In the first match of the day, top seed Aqeel Khan beat Irfanullah Khan with a margin of 6-0, 6-2. Nomi Qamar emerged victorious over Abbas Raza after an interesting contest by 6-3, 6-1. Tanveer Ashiq beat his own brother Munir Ashiq in a thriller with scores of 6-2, 3-6, 6-3. A total of 31 matches were decided on the second day of the tournament.

Ladies singles main round would start on Wednesday. Top seed Sara Mansoor will take on Umm-e-Habiba while Mahvish Chishtie will compete against Ushna Sohail.
