TORONTO, Nov 27: Canada has accepted the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) invitation to stage the 2012 Under-19 World Cup.

The president Ben Sennik told the AGM on Sunday: “We believe this will be a valuable milestone for Canadian cricket since it means we will be able to welcome representative teams from the full-member ICC countries to Canadian shores.”

Sennik also announced plans for turf pitches in Montreal and Vancouver which they aim to finalise by 2009.

Mike Kendall and Ravin Moorthy are the new vice-presidents of the Canada Cricket Association, while the CCA has a new look to it as well, as it will be known as Cricket Canada from now on.—Agencies
